The sense of agency (SoA), our feeling of control over actions and their environmental effects, has been explained through different theoretical models. This study compares three: the comparator model, proposing that SoA emerges from matching motor-based predictions to perceptual feedback, the ideomotor model, proposing that SoA emerges from monitoring goal achievement, and a self-serving bias model, proposing that SoA reflects self-attribution of positive and external attribution of negative outcomes. Participants performed a target-hitting task with manipulated visual feedback of positive or
